Sherlock
DigiGuardians’ in-house monitoring software. It finds illegal copies the way your audience finds them, so every one can be verified and taken down.

What it is
The detection layer of an enforcement service.
One of the first tools of its kind, Sherlock went live in 2014: an AI-engaged system built to track infringements and surface every result on a live dashboard, across all digital media. DigiGuardians built it and runs it in-house.
Its difference is how it looks. Sherlock searches the way an end user does rather than the way a rights owner does, varying by region, language and search habits. That is how it reaches copies a keyword sweep never sees.
Sherlock is not the service on its own. A monitoring tool flags; we execute. Detection is where the work starts, and what follows is notices, escalation, confirmed removal, and the pressure that keeps a copy down.
You do not upload your material to us. Nothing is copied or stored on our side, so protecting a title never creates one more transmission to worry about.

From detection to takedown
Five steps, one team.
Sherlock is step one. Each step after it is carried out by people.
01
Sherlock searches
Continuous scanning that imitates how a real end user searches, varying by region, language and search habits. Monitoring runs from onboarding onward, not as a scheduled sweep, and is heightened around a release window and in real time during live events.
02
Analysts verify
Every detection is verified by our own technology and analysts before anything moves. Your official channels and marketing are on the whitelist, so trailers, clips and promotional uploads are never touched.
03
We take it down
Takedown notices, delistings and platform escalation, carried through until the copy is gone. We act on the source as well as the link, so the copy is removed at its origin rather than only delisted from view.
04
We keep it down
A removed copy reappears under a new domain within days, sometimes within hours. Re-uploads and mirror domains are tracked and each new copy is handled as it appears, for as long as the title is under protection.
05
You see all of it
Every action and every result through a live dashboard and periodic reports: what was found, where it was found, and what happened to it.
Removal speed depends on the route: a marketplace listing, a registrar and a social account are three different procedures. That is why we report the actual timings on your own cases instead of quoting a single figure.
Enforcement accuracy
How wrong takedowns are prevented.
Four controls sit between a detection and a notice.
A whitelist before the first notice
Your official channels and marketing assets go on a whitelist that we set with you before enforcement begins.
Human verification of every detection
Sherlock finds; analysts confirm. Nothing is filed on an unverified detection, and false positives are filtered out.
Written authorisation, per platform
We act as your reporting agent, so we need written authorisation naming us. Many platforms accept a standard authorisation, some require a formal power of attorney; we tell you which apply before enforcement starts.
A documented record of every action
What was found, where, when, which notice went out through which channel, and what the platform did about it. The same record is what reporting is built on, and what your legal team needs if a case is escalated.
